31 de outubro no Brasil: dia do Saci Pererê!

Today in the United States commemorates the day of Halloween (Halloween the Anglo-Saxons). The Feast blend old pagan legends and religious roots of Celtic, Irish and English with new elements of modern culture. Today, the festival of Halloween, is the product of mixture of many traditions, brought by settlers in the eighteenth century to the United States and there built so peculiar in its culture, with very little originality.

That is, Halloween is a mythology of the Anglo-Saxon cultures, not the Latin. Our myths are beings that are linked to forests, the tropical world and to our native peoples. Anyway, are linked to social and cultural constructions of our people. Pictures of our folklore is the Saci Pererê, Curupira and many others. It is these that we have to identify ourselves, because our roots are the people who built them, and not those who created the cult of the dead Celtic, for example.

Thus, it is noteworthy that on October 31 marks the day of one of our cultural creations Tupiniquins: Saci Pererê. Creating native, he has adapted to black culture - making it a symbol of freedom for the slaves - and later came to represent all ethnic groups who built our nation.
